What is search?
The search function on your Digital Paper helps you locate specific files or content quickly, without scrolling through long lists or documents. Whether you're looking for a notebook title, a handwritten annotation, or a line of text buried deep in a PDF, search makes your work faster, more efficient, and more organized.
Why use search?
- Save time: Jump directly to the file or page you need
- Stay organized: Find specific notes across large documents
- Search handwriting: Locate handwritten annotations, converted text, and more
- Keep focus: No need to interrupt your flow to hunt down past notes
Where can you search?
There are two main places to search from:
1. Home screen search
Best for finding entire files or folders.
You can search for:
- File and folder names
- Handwritten annotations
- Notes and comments within PDFs and eBooks
2. In-document search
Best for finding information within a single document.
In notebooks, PDFs, and eBooks, you can search for:
- Full document text (e.g., article or eBook content)
- Handwritten content
- Highlights and comments

How to use the search bar
You can search using either:
- Keyboard: Tap Write to search to open the keyboard
- Handwriting: Write with your Digital Pen. Your input is automatically converted to text
Tip: Matches are prioritized by title first, then by in-document content.
Tips for an accurate search
- Use clear and specific keywords
- Search terms are not case-sensitive
- Wait for the handwriting-to-text conversion to complete before continuing
