Creating and personalizing Notebooks

Creating and personalizing Notebooks

Notebooks are the core of your Digital Paper experience. Flexible, personal, and customizable to suit your workflow.

How to create a new Notebook

You can open a new notebook in two ways from the Home screen:

  • Tap the circled “+” icon next to your Documents list
  • Or use the Notebook icon from the menu bar at the bottom of the screen

A pop-up will appear, guiding you through the customization of your Notebook.

Step 1: Name your nNotebook

At the top of the pop-up, you can name your Notebook.

  • Tap “Write a name” to use the keyboard
  • Or write directly with your pen on the input line (indicated by the pen icon)

Your notebook name appears below the thumbnail on your Home screen and can be used to find the Notebook via search.

Tip: Use a short, descriptive name so it’s easy to recognize and search for later.

Step 2: Choose a cover design

Next, select a cover for your Notebook. This image will appear as the notebook thumbnail on your Home screen.

  • Choose from brand-inspired covers
  • Or select a dynamic cover that displays either the first or last page of your Notebook (this updates as your content changes)

Tap “See all →” to explore the full cover gallery, then select your favorite and press “Apply” to confirm.

Note: You can change your Notebook’s cover later in Notebook settings.

Step 3: Select a template

Templates define the background for every page in your Notebook. You can choose from:

  • Basic layouts: e.g., blank, lined, dotted, graph
  • Productivity tools: e.g., checklists, planners, project planner
  • Creativity templates: e.g., sketch grids, storyboards
  • Self-focus templates: e.g., journaling prompts, habit tracker

To browse all templates, tap “See all →”, then select and apply your preferred layout.

Note: Templates apply to the entire Notebook and cannot be changed per page. You can update the template for the whole Notebook later via the Notebook settings.

Final step: Create your Notebook

Once you’ve set the name, cover, and template, tap “Create” to generate your new Notebook. will open automatically and will be added to your Home screen, ready to use.
