The Home bar and Contextual menu on your Montblanc Digital Paper are essential tools for quickly creating, organizing, and managing your files. They provide convenient access to frequently used actions, making navigation and document management faster and more intuitive.
Home bar
The Home bar is located at the bottom of the home screen and offers four primary actions:
- Create a new folder: Organize your documents by grouping related files together for better management.
- Create a new notebook: Start a new notebook for taking notes, sketches, or drafts.
- Create a Quick note: Quickly jot down ideas, thoughts, or meeting notes without opening a notebook.
- Search: Locate specific files, handwritten notes, or folders on your device quickly.
These actions offer a fast and convenient alternative to tapping the add tile next to existing documents. Using the Home bar, you can keep your workspace organized while minimizing the number of steps needed to create or find content.
Tip: The search function can save time when you have a large number of documents. Tap the search icon, enter keywords, and your Digital Paper will display matching results.
The Contextual menu provides editing and organizational options directly on the home screen. To access it:
- Long-tap a document or folder with your finger or Montblanc Digital Pen for about two seconds.
The selected file is highlighted with a circle, and the menu appears at the bottom of the screen with the following options:
- Bookmark: Mark a file as important or relevant. Bookmarked files can be filtered or viewed separately.
- Rename: Change the name of a file to maintain an organized library. (Available only when a single file is selected.)
- Duplicate: Create a copy of the file for backup or additional editing.
- Move to Folder: Relocate a file to another folder for better organization.
- Share: Send the file via email directly from your device.
- Export: Transfer the file to a connected USB device (requires an active USB connection).
- Move to Trash: Move a file to the Paper bin for deletion.
You can also select multiple files at once. Tap on additional files to add them to your selection. The total number of selected files is displayed in the bottom-right corner, and all selected files are highlighted with a circle.
Tip: Use the Contextual menu to efficiently organize your library. For example, you can move several notes into a folder simultaneously, reducing repetitive actions.
Note: The Rename option is disabled when multiple files are selected. To deselect files, tap the x on the right side of the menu.
