Quick Notes offer a fast, flexible way to capture ideas without setup, perfect for when inspiration strikes.
What is a Quick Note?
A Quick Note is a one-page document that opens instantly, allowing you to jot something down without needing to select a template, cover, or name. It’s designed for speed and simplicity.
By default:
- Quick Notes use the Blank template
- The first page becomes the preview image on the Home screen
Best for…
These notes are best for quick thoughts, reminders, or sketches. Not for multi-page planning or structured documents.
- Capturing spontaneous thoughts or reminders
- Drafting ideas without navigating template settings
- Jotting down a to-do or contact during a call
- Instant access via the Digital Pen, even from the lock screen
How to create a Quick Note
You can start a Quick Note in a few ways:
- Tap the “Note” icon from the Home screen menu
- Tap the “+” icon and choose “Note”
- Or, for even faster access, double-tap the top button of your Digital Pen to open a Quick Note directly from the lock screen.
Tip: Quick Notes open immediately, so you can begin writing without delay.
Expanding a Quick Note into a notebook
If your Quick Note grows beyond a single thought, you can convert it into a full Notebook.
To do this:
- Tap the More options (three-dot menu) inside the note
- Select “Add page”
Once a second page is added, the Quick Note is promoted to a Notebook. You’ll then be able to:
- Assign a name
- Choose a cover
- Select a template, just like when creating a Notebook from scratch
Editing and organizing Quick Notes
Quick Notes are unnamed when first created, but you can rename and organize them afterward:
- From the home screen, locate your note
- Tap the three-dot menu to rename, move, or delete it
If you prefer a different background, you can change the default template for Quick Notes in Settings.
