Pressure and tilt sensitivity
The Montblanc Digital Pen is designed to mimic the natural experience of writing and sketching on paper. Two key features that make this possible are pressure sensitivity and tilt detection, allowing you to produce expressive lines, dynamic shading, and nuanced strokes.
Pressure sensitivity
Pressure sensitivity allows the pen to respond to how hard you press on the screen:
- Light pressure: Produces fine, delicate lines
- Firm pressure: Produces thicker, bolder strokes
This feature is particularly useful when using tools like:
Tip: Use pressure sensitivity for calligraphy, detailed notes, or artistic sketches to naturally vary the thickness and weight of your strokes.
Tilt sensitivity
Tilt sensitivity allows the pen to detect the angle at which it is held. Tilting the pen can subtly alter stroke behavior depending on the selected tool:
- Example: Tilting the pencil tool can create broader, softer shading, similar to a real pencil.
- Brush or calligraphy pens may also respond differently when angled, producing a more natural artistic effect.
Tip: Combine tilt with light or firm pressure to achieve realistic drawing or handwriting effects.
Combining pressure and tilt
When used together, pressure and tilt sensitivity provide:
- Dynamic strokes: Your writing or drawing adapts naturally to how you hold and press the pen
- Expressive handwriting: Lines can vary in weight and shading
- Enhanced sketches: Achieve nuanced effects in drawings or diagrams
