Storage and Paper bin management

Storage and Paper bin management

Your Montblanc Digital Paper provides clear insight into your storage usage and offers tools to manage both device and cloud data. This ensures you can maintain optimal performance while keeping your files organized.

Storage

Within the Settings menu, navigate to General → Storage to see how much space your files are occupying on the device. Digital Paper comes with 64GB of internal storage and 1GB of cloud storage.

The cloud serves as a storage place for holding your most recent files (more on this in the Montblanc Cloud section). If you delete a file on your device, it will also be removed from the cloud, as the cloud only mirrors the content on your device. In other words, you can manage storage space only by deleting files on the device itself.

Note: Please note that the system reserves 18GB of the device storage for the operating software, USB import/export functionality, and performance optimization.

Paper bin

The Paper bin functions as a temporary holding area for deleted files before they are permanently erased. You can customize how long files remain in the Paper bin before automatic deletion. Options include 7, 30, or 60 days, with the default set to 7 days.

For example, if a file is moved to the Paper bin today and the default 7-day setting is active, it will be permanently deleted after 7 days. If you adjust the setting during this period to 30 days, the same file will remain in the paper bin until 30 days have passed.

These Storage and Paper bin management features ensure you maintain control over your files, freeing up space when needed while giving you a safety net before permanent deletion.
