Keeping the correct date and time on your Montblanc Digital Paper ensures your files display accurate timestamps for sorting and identification. You can set the date and time either during device onboarding or later in Settings.
Setting up the Time and date
As part of the initial setup, you’ll be prompted to choose your Time zone, Date, and Time.
Select your time zone from the dropdown menu.
If your device is connected to the internet, the time and date fields are greyed out and automatically adapt to your time zone selection.
If your device is not connected, you will need to set the information manually.

Note: You can always adjust your language, time zone, or date later in the Settings menu.
Adjusting the Date and time in settings
You can update your date and time at any point by opening Settings → General → Date and Time. When a time zone is selected, the illustrated globe updates automatically to reflect your selected time zone and GMT offset.
Automatic mode
- Tick the box next to Set automatically.
- Select your time zone from the dropdown or type it via the keyboard.
Tip: Choose the time zone where you spend most of your time to ensure your files display the most accurate timestamps.
When automatic mode is enabled, the time and date fields below are greyed out and cannot be edited manually.
Note: You can uncheck Set automatically to manually adjust the time and date if needed.
Manual mode
- Uncheck Set automatically.
- Select your time zone (optional).
Tap the Time field to adjust the clock:
- Use the up/down arrows to change hours and minutes.
- If 24-hour time is off, select AM/PM accordingly.
- Tap Apply to confirm or Cancel / x to exit.
Tap the Date field to set the day, month, and year:
- Navigate months and years using the arrows.
- Tap the correct date and select Apply to confirm.
Tip: Manual settings are especially useful if you don’t have a working internet connection.
Note: Changing the date and time does not retroactively alter timestamps on existing files. Always ensure your settings are accurate to maintain correct chronology.
Within Date and time, you can toggle 24-Hour time on or off:
- On: Time displays from 0–24h.
- Off: Time shows AM/PM format.
