Selection (lasso) tool

Selection (lasso) tool

The Selection Tool, often called the lasso tool, allows you to highlight and manipulate handwritten content across your Notebooks, Quick Notes, PDFs, and eBooks. It is a versatile feature that complements the writing instruments, enabling editing and organization of selected content.

How to Use the Selection Tool

To activate the selection tool, tap its icon on the writing toolbar. Once active, your Digital Pen becomes the lasso, allowing you to draw a loop around the content you wish to select. The selection is automatically enclosed when the loop is completed.

Actions Available with Selected Content

After selecting content, you can perform a variety of actions:

  1. Move: Drag the selected content to a new location using your Digital Pen or finger. You can also copy or cut the selection to move it to a different page.

  1. Rotate: Use the circle icon above the selection to rotate content clockwise or counterclockwise. Tap outside the selection to finalize the rotation.

  2. Scale: Adjust the size of your selected content using the corner handles.

  1. Copy & Paste: Copy your selection using the top-right icon. A pop-up will confirm the action. Tap on the screen to paste the content; multiple pastes are allowed.

  1. Cut & Paste: Cutting removes the selected content from its original location while storing it in the clipboard, ready for pasting elsewhere. Please note that clearing the clipboard without pasting will erase the content permanently. You can undo actions if necessary.

  1. Delete: Remove the highlighted content using the paper bin icon. Only handwritten content can be deleted.

Using the selection tool alongside the writing instruments allows for a flexible, efficient, and precise way to manage content on your Montblanc Digital Paper.

WarningImportant: The selection tool only works with handwritten content. Template lines, embedded text, or PDF content cannot be selected or edited.
