Reset your Montblanc Digital Paper
Factory resetting your Montblanc Digital Paper can be useful for troubleshooting issues or preparing the device for a new user. Performing a factory reset restores the device to its original state by erasing all local data, while your Montblanc Cloud account and synced files remain unaffected. Before proceeding, ensure that all files are properly synced to avoid accidental data loss.
- Navigate to Settings > General > About your device > Factory reset on your Digital Paper.
- Tap the arrow next to Factory reset to begin the process.
- Two pop-ups will appear to confirm your intention and ensure the reset is being performed by the device owner.
If passcode protection is enabled, but the device is not paired to a Montblanc Cloud account
Enter your Digital Paper passcode to confirm the reset and proceed.
If the device is connected to a Montblanc Cloud account
Enter your Montblanc Cloud password to confirm the reset. This step ensures that the device is unpaired from the cloud, but it does not delete your Montblanc Cloud account. You can find instructions for deleting your cloud account in the Montblanc Cloud section.
Please ensure your device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network before starting the reset. You can verify or select a network in Settings.
Important notes
- Factory resets cannot be undone. Once completed, all files on the device are permanently deleted.
- After the reset, your device will return to the initial onboarding process.
- Tip: If your device was connected to a Montblanc Cloud Account, the most recently synchronized data (up to 1GB) remains on the cloud. You can reconnect to the cloud after the reset to regain access to these files.
