Keeping the correct date and time on your Montblanc Digital Paper ensures that your device displays information consistently. From file timestamps to the clock in your control center, these settings help you stay organized and aligned across tasks. You can either allow the device to update automatically or adjust the details manually, depending on your preferences.
Time zone
The first option you’ll encounter is the time zone. Setting the right one ensures that your Digital Paper reflects your local time and applies it to file edits and system information.
Here are the steps to adjust it:
- Open Date and time from the General settings.
- Tap the dropdown next to Time zone.
- Either scroll through the list or type the name of your preferred zone in the input field.
- Select your time zone.

24-Hour time
If you prefer to see the time displayed from 0 to 24 hours instead of AM/PM, you can enable the 24-hour format. This is a personal preference and can be switched at any time.
To activate or deactivate:
- In the Date and Time menu, find 24-Hour time.
- Use the checkbox on the right to turn it on or off.
Set automatically
For the most seamless experience, you can let your Digital Paper set the time and date using Wi-Fi. Once enabled, the device synchronizes automatically with your chosen time zone.
Steps to enable automatic settings:
- Tick the box next to Set automatically.
- Make sure you have selected your preferred Time zone first.
- Once active, the time and date fields appear in grey, showing they can’t be edited manually.
Tip: This is the best option if you travel occasionally or want your device to always remain in sync.

Set manually
If Wi-Fi is not available, or if you prefer full control, you can also set the date and time manually. This ensures your Digital Paper reflects the most accurate chronology of your work, even without a network connection.
Steps for manual adjustment:
- Untick Set automatically.
- Select a time zone if you wish.
Tap the Time field to open a pop-up.
- Use the arrows to adjust hours and minutes.
- If 24-hour time is disabled, choose AM/PM.
- Confirm with Apply or cancel with Cancel/x.
Tap the Date field to open the calendar.
- Use the arrows to move between months and years.
- Select the correct day.
- Confirm with Apply or cancel with Cancel/x.
Notes
- Changing the date and time in settings does not alter the timestamps already stored on your files.
- Always make sure the settings reflect the correct information to maintain accurate file chronology.
- You can return to the General overview at any time by tapping ← Date and time.
